The Label
It’s all about the label, isn’t it girls? Funny thing though, I hate the label. I’m a SAHM to 4 scandalous blessings. I’m a homeschooling mom to 2 of those. I’m a MOPS member, breast feeder, coupon clipper … really, I’m just a girl with a keyboard. If any label sticks to me, may it be the one branded on my heart saying that I’m a Believer.
I’ve been married to my highschool sweetheart, Wally for 14 years. I like to giggle when I tell folks that the 3 of us went to the prom together – me, Wally & my hair.
Together we have a 14 YO son, Simond, who is becoming a man right before my tearful eyes. I swear, I think I can actually see him growing. He loves the Lord and once told me that he is more spiritually mature than I am – the problem is that he’s right. This year, Simond is in the 9th grade at the Rucker Dining Room Table Academy, which he has been attending for 4 years.
He has a very tender heart, sensitive to sin and is a part-time ninga in his imagination.
Our second born is now 4 YO! Job is a blond tornado/firecracker/rocket scientist. You have
to sigh after you say his name … he is always in trouble
Instead of imaginary friends, Job has imaginary parrots. He wants to know who spanks Daddy, while swears that he did not punch his brother Asher in the belly. Right …
Asher, sweet Asher. He’s just under 2 and is a belly aching laugh. He’s shaped like a center block and can only walk 2 steps before he falls down. He ADORES his brother Job. He is always so dirty that he looks like a diease you should protect your children from. He’s always eating and there is nothing that a hug won’t fix for Asher.
Annabelle, or Miss Belle as we affectionately call her, is 5 months. Everyone in our house is MADLY in love
with this little princess. Her big blue eyes steal your heart in a second. We all like to carry on conversations with her as she always agrees with us.
My Wally – he’s a sailor in the Navy. Stationed on the USS Eisenhower as an Equal Opportunity Adviser, he’s always in and out to sea. It’s often like a revolving door. He is the epitome of Mr. Steady, if you are a ‘Created to Be His Helpmeet’ reader. He makes me feel adored and sometimes I love him as much as I hate him.
There is never a dull moment in our relationship.
Then there is me – I’m an avid reader, a wanna-be writer. I like to run (rather plod). I like to study the bible
and am always blown away at how amazing it is. I’m struggling with my weight and feel like I’m doomed to be this way forever. I LOVE the body of Christ, and the diversity of it. I love women and their hearts and their capacity. I like to sew and am trying to rebuild my purse business: www.members.cox.net/watchingandwaiting Money is tight (can I get an amen?), so I’ve just stuck my toe into the coupon clipping madness. I have an intense desire to be known, and am looking forward to this outlet on the web. I’ve also been
Forever changed, Amy
